Which BERG go-kart for which age
BERG makes its pedal karts in frame sizes, each with an age guide, and the guides overlap. We stock three frames, the Buddy, the Rally and the XL, in 5 karts from €299. This guide goes through them a year at a time, so you can match a kart to the child, or children, who will ride it.
Donegal Trampolines is run by Trampolines Ireland, an official BERG Premium Dealer. Every kart is delivered free across County Donegal, normally within 48 hours.

Buddy
One answer. The Buddy is the only family whose guide reaches down to three, so the decision left is colour: the B.Orange, or the Lua in pink and green.
Age 4
Buddy, Rally
Two guides meet here. Most four-year-olds are better served by the Buddy, which they can manage straight away. For a child who is tall and already confident on a bike, the Rally is worth a phone call to us.
Ages 5 to 8
Buddy, Rally, XL
All three guides apply, which makes these the hardest years to choose for. Near five and small, think Buddy. In the middle, the Rally is the natural fit. If the kart is to be shared with much older children or an adult, go to the XL.
Ages 9 to 12
Rally, XL
The Buddy's guide has ended. The Rally still fits, but there are fewer years left in it, so for a child of eleven or twelve the XL is usually the better buy.
Age 13 to adult
XL
One answer again. The XL is the only family BERG rates past twelve, and it is rated up to adult.

Three questions besides age
- Height. Age guides are averages. Tell us the rider's height and we will check it against BERG's figures for the frame.
- Who else will ride it. Cousins at Christmas, an older sister, a parent: the more riders, the bigger the frame to consider.
- Where it will be ridden. Private ground only, never the public road. A firm yard or lane suits every kart; soft grass is hardest on the smallest riders.
Buying a kart in Donegal
Karts are delivered free by Donegal Groupage of St Johnston, Co. Donegal, and an in-stock kart ordered by Wednesday 16 December 2026 is delivered before Christmas. Prices are in euro. You have 14 days to return a kart, paying the return delivery if it is a change of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the youngest age for a BERG pedal go-kart?+
Among the karts we sell, three. That is where BERG's age guide for the Buddy begins. The Rally begins at four and the XL at five.
Should I buy a bigger kart for my child to grow into?+
Only if the child is inside BERG's age guide for it today and can reach the pedals and steer in comfort. A kart that is too big is hard to pedal and gets left in the shed. If your child is between two frames, give us their age and height.
One kart for children of different ages: which?+
Look for the family whose guide covers every rider. For a five-year-old and a ten-year-old, the Rally and the XL both do. Add a teenager or a parent and only the XL does. A three-year-old is covered by the Buddy alone, so a house with a toddler and a ten-year-old may be looking at two karts.
Is a pedal go-kart any use on wet Donegal grass?+
It will go on grass, but firm ground is easier, and soft wet grass is hard work for a young rider. A yard, a private lane or a tarmac drive away from the road gets far more use out of a kart through a Donegal winter than a lawn does.
Do the karts come assembled?+
We supply and deliver and do not assemble. BERG's manual covers assembly. If something in the manual is unclear, ring us.
How are go-karts delivered in Donegal, and what does it cost?+
Free of charge, including the Buddy B.Orange at €299. The karts are held in our own Irish warehouse and delivered within 48 hours, in Donegal by Donegal Groupage of St Johnston, Co. Donegal. Someone must be there to sign.

Tell us the rider's age and height and who else will use the kart. We will say which one we would buy, and confirm a delivery date for your part of Donegal.
